Derek Foley Obituary

Derek J. Foley, 36, of 11 Aspinwall Rd., died Wednesday June 17 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester.

He leaves his brother, Joseph R. Belanger of Spencer; two sisters, Jodi R. Schavone and her husband Peter of Apex, N.C., and Dawn J. Trethaway and her husband David of Beverly, Ma.; two nephews, Joshua Belanger and Nicholas Schavone; four nieces, Janelle Belanger, Jaclyn Schavone, Heather and Elizabeth Trethaway; aunts, uncles and cousins. He leaves his extended loving family from the Seven Hills Home where he resided.

He was born in Framingham, the son of Edward J. and Joan R. (Belanger) Foley. He attended the Mercy Center in Worcester and graduated from Leicester High School's "Dawning Place" Program in 1995. He also attended the Assabet Extended Day Program.

Derek had a passion for community service organizations, most importantly firefighters, their fire trucks and rescue vehicles. He was a vocational worker at HMEA Sterling Dayhab in Sterling.

A "Celebration of Derek's Life" will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Seven Hills Foundation, 799 W.Boylston St., Worcester on Sunday, June 21. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24 in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson St., Marlborough. Please omit flowers, contributions may be made to the Seven Hills Foundation, 81 Hope Ave., Worcester, 01603. MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester is directing arrangements.

I worked were Derick lived at WestChester for a few years. It was a honor to know Derick. I havn't seen him in a few years , but I did go visit him when he first moved. He was a wonderful, fun person to all that really knew him.
