Lucy B. Belles

Lucy B. (Ricciardi) Belles, 72, of Oxford, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2009 in Punta Cana, while vacationing with friends. She is survived by her loving husband, Reuben Belles; her daughter Lynn and her husband Russ Oliver of Worcester; a sister, Frances Terry of Worcester; two grandchildren, Russell and Katie Oliver; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters. Born in Worcester, daughter of Joseph and Angelina (Notarangelo) Ricciardi, she graduated from David Hale Fanning Trade High School, and then worked as a hairdresser at Leo's Salon in Worcester. She served her nation proudly in the Marine Corps, she graduated from Paris Island on June 11, 1958, and served in the Women's Recruit Battalion.

Lucy enjoyed travelling and spending time at the beach; but her greatest happiness was her family and grandchildren. Her love and care for family and friends will long be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Her family would like to share a time of visitation on Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m.. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to Greendale Peoples Church, 25 Francis Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
