Anne Hovenesian Obituary

Anne Hovenesian, 94, died on Friday, August 24, 2007, at the VNA Care Hospice. She leaves a sister, Lucy Hovenesian, and a niece, Marsha Hovenesian, both of Worcester; a nephew, Mark Hovenesian, and a grandnephew, Thomas Edward Hovenesian, both of Carlsbad, CA.  Two brothers, John and William, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Markar and Almas (Dinjian) Hovenesian and graduated from Commerce High School where she was a Horace Mann student for four years and a Class Day Speaker. She worked at Wyman Gordon Company for 32 years and was the first woman in its history to be part of its management group. She was a member of Music Worcester, Inc. and had sung in the Worcester Chorus for 30 years.  She was a member of The Music Guild, WGBH, The Worcester Biological Foundation, and she served on the Parish Council of The Armenian Church of Our Saviour.

Visiting hours are from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 26, at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street. A Dahngark service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 27, 11:00 a.m. at The Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Armenian Church of Our Saviour.  For directions and on-line condolences, please visit:
