Charlene Lukas Obituary

Charlene M. (Koncel) Lukas, 59, of Middlesex Avenue in Worcester, passed away, Friday, October 5, 2007, in her home, with loving family at her side, after a courageous battle with A.L.S. "Lou Gehrig's Disease".

She is survived by the love of her life, best friend, and husband of nearly forty years, Worcester Police Lieutenant Paul M. Lukas; their daughter and best girl friend, Stacey Lukas Simoncini and her husband Michael Simoncini; her grand daughter, Kira E. Simoncini; her mother, Eleanor (Janasek) Mendelsohn all of Worcester; a sister, Jacqueline Gorman of Downers Grove, Illinois; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A brother, Ronald Koncel, pre-deceased her. Charlene was born in Chicago, Illinois daughter of the late Anton Koncel. She graduated from Mother McCauley High School, and then began working for several banks in Chicago.

Charlene worked for over twenty years at Midstate International Truck in Worcester, before she retired in 2004. Her greatest joy was her family, and she put them before everything.
