Everett N. Kershaw

Everett N. Kershaw, 84, of Winthrop Terrace, died Friday, October 5, 2007, at The Center for Extended Care at Amherst.

He leaves three sons, Harold Kershaw of Westfield, Randy Kershaw of Granby and Brian Kershaw of Warren; three daughters, Norma Beaudry of West Warren, Donna Miller of Holden and Marilyn Smith of Southington, CT; thirteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Rose M. (Misiaszek) Kershaw in 1994 and three siblings, George Kershaw, Gladys Howe and Grace Stone. He was born in Barre, son of the late Alfred W. and Ethel (Weighill) Kershaw and grew up in Barre Plains and lived in Palmer and Warren for many years and Winchester, NH for twelve years before moving back to Warren in 1998.

Mr. Kershaw was a automotive inspector for six years for the Government Service Administration in Hartford, CT before retiring in 1982. Previously, he was the service manager for many years at the Edward H. Spencer car dealership in Warren and for the former Carroll Chevrolet in West Brookfield.

He served as a sergeant in the United States Army during WWII.

He was a former president of the Men's Club and Senior Warden on the Vestry at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church in North Brookfield and was a deacon at the Episcopal Church in Keene, NH. He was also a former president of the Chrysler Plymouth Service Managers Association.

"Everett will be best remembered for those personal traits which make a person endearing to family and friends. His dedicated and conscientious work ethic was his way of teaching his children how to be successful in life. His devotion and commitment to his family will be in our hearts along with the many fond memories we will always cherish."

A Funeral Service for Everett will be held, Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007 at 10:00 AM in Christ Memorial Episcopal Church, Main St., North Brookfield. Burial with military honors will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery in Gilbertville. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Oct. 9, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Center for Extended Care at Amherst, 150 University Dr., Amherst, MA 01002.
