Carolyn Eck Obituary

Carolyn E. (Anderson) Eck, Beloved wife, mother, and sister died Oct. 10 after a brief struggle with cancer.

Born in Chicago, IL, she was raised in Auburn, MA. and graduated Auburn High School in 1959 and the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1966 receiving her RN as well as an award for outstanding bedside nursing.

She worked 30 years as a home healthcare nurse on Cape Cod, also several years outside the nursing field at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed hiking, gardening, and knitting and was a great animal lover, especially her yellow lab, Otto.

Carolyn was a member of the first Lutheran Church in West Barnstable and a member of the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years Calvert F. Eck of Barnstable. A daughter Lauren L. Eck of Rayham, sons Scott B. Eck of Somerville and Joshua N. Eck of Allston. Sister of Sandra L. Jablonski and her husband Joseph of Millbury, Sally E. Westermark of Lorton, VA. Also survived by many Nieces and Nephews.

A Memorial service will be held at the First Lutheran Church, Main St. W. Barnstable on Wed., Oct. 17 at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours in the John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Rd. (Rt. 28), Marstons Mills, MA. on Tues 4-8 p.m.

Donations in her name may be made to First Lutheran Church, Memorial Fund, West Barnstable, MA 02630.
