Raymond Hamelin Obituary

Raymond Hamelin, 77, formerly of Homeward Ave died Fri. October 12, at the Willows in Westborough.

He is survived by his brother Joseph Hamelin of Plattsmouth, Nebraska and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his sister Dorothy Tuttle in 1994

Born in Uxbridge on September 25, 1930, he was the son of the late Ambrose J. and Eva M. (Gervais) Hamelin. He was a graduate of Douglas High School class of 1950, Worcester State College and Wisconsin State University, Raymond also attended SUNY in Oneonta, N.Y and UMASS Amherst. He was a US Air Force Korean War Veteran. Mr. Hamelin worked for 25 years as a math and science, Junior High School teacher, for the Department of Defense in Heidelberg, Germany retiring in 1990. He previously worked at Lynch's Drugstore in Uxbridge. Raymond was also the gardener for the Uxbridge Public Library. He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Uxbridge and the Uxbridge VFW Post 1385.

A Memorial Mass will be held Wed. Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 77 Mendon St. (Rt. 16) in Uxbridge. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wed. Oct 17, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home 35 Snowling Rd Uxbridge Ma 01569.
