Edgar Gelineau Obituary

Edgar A. Gelineau, 93, of 8 Stoughton Avenue, died Saturday, October 13, in Webster Manor. His wife of 48 years, Rita (Fafard) Gelineau, died June 3.

He leaves a brother, Bernard C. Gelineau of Wallingford, CT; and several nephews and nieces.

He was born in Webster, the son of Arthur L. and Emma (Chagnon) Gelineau and was a lifelong resident.

He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II, serving as a sergeant.

Mr. Gelineau was a stationery engineer at Memorial Hospital in Worcester for 21 years, retiring in 1979.

He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and a life member of its League of the Sacred Heart. He was a member of the Webster-Dudley American Legion Post #184 and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #654.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, October 16, from the Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main St. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The Webster-Dudley Veterans Council will perform the military honors. Calling hours are from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Monday, October 15, in the funeral home. Donations in his name may be made to Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 18 East Main St., Webster, MA 01570.
