Antonia Travaglio Obituary

Antonia "Antoinette" (Turillo) Travaglio, 60, of Benedict Road in Worcester, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2007, after a long illness.

She leaves her loving husband and best friend of thirty-nine years, Matteo Travaglio. She also leaves many family and friends, including two daughters, Maria T. DiLullo and her husband Michael R. DiLullo of Feeding Hills, MA, Donatella "Dona" Travaglio of Worcester; three grandchildren, Michael, Mia, and Matthew DiLullo; two brothers, Domenico and Michael Turillo both in Italy; a sister, Angelina Riganesse also in Italy; many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends. Antonia was born in Vieste, Foggia, Italy, daughter of Micheleangelo and Donata (Mosca) Turillo. She lived in Italy for many years, before marrying her loving husband, Matteo, and setting out for America, settling in Worcester in 1968.

Mrs. Travaglio worked as a seamstress for many years at Hersh Neckwear in Worcester. She was a lifelong devoted Catholic and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Parish, where she was a devoted patron and volunteer for the Feast of Saint Maria Di Mareno, and the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

The funeral for Antonia will be held Wednesday, October 24, from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, October 23, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to V.N.A. Care Network, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
