Roger Anderson Obituary

Roger A. Anderson, 63, of Falls Church, VA died Thursday, October 4, 2007 at his home after a 27 year battle with Parkinson's Disease.

Born in Maynard, son of the late Arnold and Florence (Covey) Anderson, he graduated from Maynard High School in 1961 and from Boston University with a B.A. in Business Administration in 1965. He worked for the Federal Government in Boston before transferring to Washington DC where he lived for the last 40 years. A computer modeler, he retired from the Department of the Interior in 1995 after thirty years, where he received many high achievement awards. He wrote the computer model for the Alaskan Naval Petroleum Reserve Area, found federal plots for First Lady Ladybird Johnson's flower gardens among many other accomplishments.

He leaves his wife, Judith (Desy) Anderson to whom he was married for 37 years; a son, John and his wife Israporn, and was brother-in-law to Owen and Joan Desy and Louis Desy.

He will be memorialized at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 27 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 931 Main Street in Worcester, MA and buried 1:00 PM Monday October 29 in the family plot at Glenwood Cemetery, Great Road, Route 117 in Maynard.
