Maureen Roy Obituary

Maureen L. (Martin) Roy, 59, of Sutton St., died Fri., Oct. 19, at Metro West Hospital in Natick.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Richard A. Roy; her mother, Yvonne Z. (Jussaume) Martin of Uxbridge; a brother, Albert T. Martin of Sutton and several nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by her sister, Patricia S. Beaudoin.

Born in Northbridge, on Feb. 21, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Albert A. Martin and has lived in Linwood and Uxbridge all of her life. Mrs. Roy owned and operated her own beauty salon in Douglas for 7 years; she also worked as a hairdresser for Terry Reneau at the Blue Bird Beauty Shop in Whitinsville, the former Roger's Bakery in Whitinsville and worked for 25 years at the Fenwall Corp. in Ashland. She attended the Good Shepherd School in Linwood and was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd. She enjoyed playing cards, collecting cookbooks and spending time with her family, especially her nephews and nieces.

Her funeral Mass will be on Wed., Oct. 24 at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 21 Linwood St., Linwood, MA. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Uxbridge. Calling hours at Tancrell Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge, MA 01569 will be held Tues., Oct. 23 from 4 to 8 p.m.
