Helen R. Balukonis

Helen R. (Milewski) Balukonis, 83, formerly of Elmwood St., died Friday, October 19th, in the Millbury Health Care Center.

Her husband, Walter J. Balukonis died in 1993.

She leaves her son, Fran Balukonis and his wife Janet; her brother, Robert Milewski and his wife Lois, her two sisters, Natalie Suprenant and her husband Richard, and Phyllis Taylor and her husband Raymond; and her sister-in-law, Betty Milewski, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her three brothers, William, Thomas and Richard Milewski.

She was born in Clinton, a daughter of the late William and Rose (Tuminski) Milewski and has lived in Auburn for many years. She graduated from Clinton High School.

Mrs. Balukonis worked as an administrative secretary for Consolidated Beverage in Auburn for 25 years before retiring in 1990.

A gregarious woman, Helen always looked forward to the time she spent at the Auburn Senior Center, and with the St. Joseph's Parish Senior Steppers, enjoying their many excursions. She was also an active member of North American Martyrs Parish in Auburn.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, October 22nd from 5-8 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 23rd from the funeral home with a Funeral Mass celebrated at 10 AM in North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Dr., Auburn. Committal services will follow in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester.
