Leon Sobolewski Obituary

Leon Sobolewski, 88, of Shannon St., died Saturday, Oct. 20th in Radius Health Care, Worcester.

He leaves his wife of 27 years, Jean Marie (Palmieri) Sobolewski; a son, Paul Sobolewski and his wife Bernadette of Rehoboth; five step-children; sixteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Jennie Sobolewsky of Worcester and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his first wife, Rita (DePasquale) Sobolewski and by a brother, John Sobolewsky. He was born in Hartford, CT, a son of Joseph and Sophie (Bulai) Sobolewsky.

Mr. Sobolewski was a jeweler many years for American Supply Co. He retired in 1983. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and served as a Tech Sgt. He was a member of the National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors, Inc. He enjoyed woodworking, repairing watches and clocks and working in his garden.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, Oct. 25th from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 12 NOON in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, Oct. 25th from 10 to 11:45 am in the funeral home.
