Alfred Griffith Obituary

Alfred M. Griffith, 69, of Worcester died on Monday, October 22 in the Umass Memorial Medical Center University Campus after an illness.

Mr. Griffith leaves his wife of 35 years, Alberta N. (Lamica) Griffith of Worcester; a daughter, Julie Brooks of Auburn; 6 sons, Gordon Hickey and Howard Hickey both of Lansing, MI, David Hickey, Mathew Hickey, and Alfred Hickey all of Bennington, VT and Michael Griffith of MI; a brother, Butch Griffith of Gladwin, FL; three sisters, Ellen Riness of Lowlida, CA, Dorothy Golwitzer of Haynes City, FL and Shirley Skaggs of Ellenton, FL; 18 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Mr. Griffith was born in Flint, Michigan son of Alfred C. and Flora (Haslacker) Griffith and is predeceased by a brother, Edmond Griffith.

He is a veteran of the United States Navy and worked for the RJF Security Company in Worcester. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed fishing.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday October 27 at 11 AM in the Hope Cemetery Chapel, 119 Webster St. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress Street, 5th Floor Boston, MA 02110.

I would like to extend my condolences to the family of Alfred. I've known Al for more than twenty years - Al was a gentle spirit. He will be surely missed! But he is now in the presence of the Almighty. We will meet again someday...

Just wanted to say that you all are in my prayers. Every time I talked with Alfred he always had the holy spirt within him. I know that we will neet agine with the lord. He may seem gone. But he is alive with God.
