Irene Brochu Obituary

Irene F. (Poudrier) Brochu, 97, formerly of 99 East Hartford Ave, died Tue. Oct. 23 at St. Camillus Health Care Center, where she had been a resident for the past 4 years. Her husband of 44 years Joseph W. Brochu died in 1973.

Irene is survived by 89 descendants; 4 sons, Henry J. Brochu and his wife Rita of Natick, Richard D. Brochu and his wife Lorraine of Kissimmee, FL., Roland A. Brochu and his wife Cora of Linwood and Ernest E. Brochu and his wife Marlene of Northbridge; 4 daughters, Germaine T. and her husband Stanley F. Kloczkowski of Douglas, Rita L. and her husband Charles B. Radzik of Kissimmee, Fl., Claire E. and her husband A. Courtney Longton of Haverhill and Lorraine M. and her husband Walter R. Duso of Charlton; 23 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by 3 brothers; 3 sisters and 2 great-grandsons, Scott Morton and Jonathan Radzik.

Born in Uxbridge, on Jan. 3, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Harmidas and Mary Jane (Bedard) Poudrier and lived in Uxbridge all of her life. Irene worked for many years at local factories before her retirement in 1972. She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Linwood and the Ladies of St. Anne. She enjoyed singing, crocheting, playing Bingo, cooking, baking and loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Her funeral Mass will be held Sat. Oct. 27 at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 121 Linwood St. Linwood. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours at Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd. are Fri. Oct. 26 from 4 to 8p.m. At the families request Please Omit Flowers. Donations in Irene's memory may be made to St. Camillus Activities Fund, 447 Hill St. Whitinsville, MA 01588.

What a wonderful life to have had been blessed with so many children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. We are friends of Lianne's and she has spoken of her great-grandmother often. God Bless.
