Stephen Marble Obituary

Stephen J. Marble, 55, of Orange, formerly of Lancaster, died on Saturday, October 20th.

He is survived by three brothers, John F. Marble and his wife Bambi of Barre, Mark C. Marble and his wife Nancy and Frank X. Marble, all of Athol; and three sisters, Mary L. Tervo of East Arlington, VT, Martha E. Moore of Lancaster, and Margaret Mary Marble of Leominster. He also leaves his "step-mother", Ruth Robertson of Athol; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by a sister, Catherine A. Marble who died in 2001.

Stephen was born in Fitchburg to the late John I. and Catherine (Dinneen) Marble and was raised in Lancaster. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Nashoba Regional High School. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and worked for several years for Hannaford Bros. in Orange, MA.

A memorial service is to be held at 10 AM on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at the First Church of Christ Unitarian, 725 Main St., Lancaster. Burial is to be held privately at Eastwood Cemetery, Lancaster. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Stephen's name to the Athol/Orange Family Inn, 88 East Main St., Orange, MA 01364-1217. The family Inn provides food, shelter, and emergency services to individuals and families in need.

Stephen was an awesome uncle. He was always at all the family functions. I still have my graduation present from him. He was a quiet but strong man who showed enduring love and affection to his family. I will miss him deeply.
