Jeannette Ryan Obituary

Jeannette E. (Amyot) Ryan, 97, died Saturday, October 27, 2007 at the Lifecare Center of Auburn. She was a life long resident of Worcester until moving to Lifecare in 2006.

She is survived by a daughter, Janet Goodnow of Leicester; a grandson, David Goodnow and his wife Pamela of Sturbridge; a granddaughter, Denise Ovaska and her husband Michael of Ashburnham; two great grandchildren: Abbigale and Timothy Ovaska of Ashburnham; and the many friends that she made with the staff at Lifecare.

Jeannette was born January 16, 1910 in Worcester to Henry and Virginie (Demers) Amyot. She was predeceased by her brothers: Ovide, Donat, Bertrand, Wilfred and Sylvio, and her sisters: Ora, Cecile and Ella. Her husband, James H. Ryan, passed away in 1982.

She sorted screws at Reed and Prince Co. in Worcester. For many years, she cleaned houses for the elderly. She retired in the mid 80's after working as a part time housekeeper at Our Lady of Loreto Parish in Worcester.

Those who knew her were inspired by her youthfulness, her love to her family, the love that she had for life, and the enthusiasm she always led her life with. She enjoyed being the heart of the party and also looked to give something of herself to others. She baked sweets half for herself and half to give to others; always kneading her love into all her recipes. She will be missed by family, friends, and all those that she touched.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 31 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Aloysius-St. Jude Church, 489 Pleasant St., Leicester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held from 9 to 10 AM in the funeral home before the funeral.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852.
