Dear Mike,
I've not seen Cathy since our high school graduation, but I remember her well. She was always friendly and outgoing, with a smile that lit up the room. My sincere sympathies to you and yours.

Mike,
No one can say sorry enough to you. We have all felt the pain and the tears roll down our face. I just want you to be glad of the time you had with her and remember all the memories. She is a wonderful lady and I know you experienced that first hand. Being her granddaughter I would have liked to see more of her but what I did see of her was the best and thats more than I ever could have asked for.
Though we have cried and felt the pain, we will all reach the point where all we can do is think of her and smile because of how amazing she is.
I know we didn't know each other well and we didn't cross paths much but I love you and my heart goes out to you and grandma. Though I know plenty have said this to you I will say it also, If you ever need anything at all, even if it's advice for where to look for your keys, my mom and I are here for you.
I trust that you will do well and you wont starve, and you will look up in the sky on a clear day and know she is there watching over you. Your love will always be there and she will always love you.

Mike,
I was so sad to learn of Kathy's passing. I sat and spoke with both of you in early 2004 at Marshall's funeral. It was nice to catch up and spend some time with Newport folks. Always remember to keep the memories alive and celebrate her life. She will be missed.

Dear Michael,
Tricia and I are very sorry for your loss. Marshall is probably getting tips as we speak from Kathy about how to throw the PERFECT COOKIE... They had a special bond that has lasted a lifetime. Unfortunately they both were taken from us way too early. We love you and if there is anything that I can do please call. I will be right down. Things get tougher before it gets easier. Don't be too proud to get help. Hospice did wonders for me. WE LOVE YA ... Karen and Tricia Johnson P.S. We had many wonderful times together and those memories will never die. Your Tampa trips on the train, our Fort and Ocala days you were with us all the way. Marshall loved and respected you both. I want to Thank You for sharing Marshall with me. Once I got Kathy's approval I knew I was in.

Michael:
Know that Kathy knew her God. I was so happy to have been able to spend time with her at the Sam's Sweet 16 Party. While everyone was drinking and having fun, I was sitting with her listening to a tender and kind soul whose only concern was you. God's love is hard to understand at times I know, but at the end of the day things work out. Kathy is with God now, no longer in pain and is at Peace. She wishes you Peace this day and always.

Michael,
I'm not too good at knowing what to say at a time like this, so I would like to dedicate one of my poems to Kathy...
If I Don’t Live
If I don’t live to see the sun
Capture its warmth
If I don’t live to breathe the air
Indulge its calm
If I don’t live to consume the fruit
Savor its taste
If I don’t live to smell the roses
Protect its beauty
If I don’t live to touch the sand
Cherish its texture
If I don’t live to hear the music
Value its melody
If I don’t live to watch the stars
Explore its sky
If I don’t live to see tomorrow
Treasure the present

MISS ME--BUT LET ME GO
WHEN I COME TO THE END OF THE ROAD
AND THE SUN HAS SET FOR ME
I WANT NO RITES IN A GLOOM FILLED
ROOM
WHY CRY FOR A SOUL SET FREE.
MISS ME A LITTLE - BUT NOT TOO LONG
AND NOT WITH YOUR HEAD BOWED LOW
REMEMBER THE LOVE THAT WE ONCE
SHARED
MISS ME - BUT LET ME GO.
FOR THIS IS A JOURNEY THAT WE ALL
MUST TAKE
AND EACH MUST GO ALONE
IT'S ALL A PART OF THE MASTER'S PLAN
A STEP ON THE ROAD TO HOME.
WHEN YOU ARE LONELY AND SICK AT
HEART
GO TO THE FRIENDS WE KNOW AND BURY
YOUR SORROW'S IN DOING GOOD DEEDS
MISS ME - BUT LET ME GO.

Michael,
If the people we love are stolen from us, the way to have them live on is to never stop loving them. Buildings burn, people die, but real love is forever. Always remember, the good die young. Thinking of you.

Michael,
This is something we believe Kathy would want you to know.
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say... but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay. I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above. Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love. Pleae do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight. Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night. That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through, God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
We will all miss her very deeply and our prayers and thoughts are with you. Sincerely Staff of the Tax Collector
