Peter Derry Obituary
Marty is survived by his devoted wife and partner of 22 years, Gayle M. (Nassif) Derry; his adored two sons° Michael J. Derry and his wife Rebecca of Worcester, Sean P. Derry and his wife Samantha of Webster; his beloved parents, Peter M. Derry, Jr. and Gloria M. (Fernandez) Derry of Worcester; two brothers: Scott A. and Kevin A. Derry, both of Worcester; his two sisters: Cheryl A. Rawinski and her husband J. Philip of Sutton and Robin M. Lorusso and her husband Leonard of Millbury; three cherished grandchildren: Christopher, Isabell, and Alana; his special buddy and friend, Junior; a niece, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Marty was a professional truck driver more than 22 years. He was presently driving for Northeast Carriers, LLC.
Marty was a devoted family man, who loved to fish, and ride motorcycles. He was an accomplished artist who enjoyed drawing freehand pictures. His most enjoyed time was spent with his family, his friends and his dogs.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, November 7th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 6th. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden St., Worcester 01606.

I was deeply saddened to learn of the tragic news and untimely passing of your beloved husband Peter. Hi Hun,
It’s been almost 4 weeks since you’ve been gone and I still can’t believe it! I feel like anytime now you’re going to walk through that door or the phone is going to ring and it’s going to be you…I feel so empty inside. I love you and miss you sooooo much. You were a part of me, we were one, always together and now you left me alone. I don’t know what to do without you…you were my life. I see your face everywhere I go..I just wish I got to say goodbye to you and tell you how much I love you one more time…this world is just so unfair! You were taken away from us too soon!!
Here are some things that have been going on…Isabell turned one and started walking, Alana had her last cast taken off and it didn’t go as well as they thought so now she’s taking a trip to Iowa to see the real specialist. This is a little set back but she will be fine and for Christopher, he misses his grandfather. He’s been acting out a little because he doesn’t understand where you went…you were his best friend, his sidekick, his “Do Do”. He always says Do Do’s up in the sky with the Angels. Junior, he misses you too.. He wonders where his dad is. I had to put something of yours down on his dog bed to relax him for a while. As for Mike and Sean, well their not doing well either…Mike is so upset between loosing you and now Alana’s foot he’s going crazy…and for Sean, well you know…he lost not only his father but best friend too.

Hey Peter,
So its been a couple of weeks and I just wanted to let you know that everyone is holding up and ur little buddy Chris,hes doing so good. the other night he seen ur picture and yelled at me not to take it away from him because he wanted to hold his "Do Do" and kiss his picture so I just had to let him have it.There hasnt been a day that we havnt missed you. Its still hard excepting the fact that your not here with us on earth but now that your looking over us from heaven.Its so hard looking into sean's eyes and seein that hes tryin to be strong for the family. It was so weird...going to your house and not seeing you there and walking by your room to christophers room..and knowing that your not just taking a quick nap but your actually not there. I feel like so much time has past by and I have to tell you a life story..but theres nothing to say.I just wish we could all say good bye or at least change that morning just a little bit..just a little? but everything happends for a reason and god needed you up there with him and now that you did him a favor and went up there do us all a favor and watch over us for as long as you can.Theres always going to be that tuggin feeling inside of us all..that feeling that you dont want someone to go but they have to..and no one can stop it..no one.. I just laugh at the pictures of when you have a big smile on your face and the picture with you dancing to the wiggles with chris in your room, and the picture with the big fish.
