Virginia Ward Obituary

Virginia A. Ward, 65, died peacefully in her home on Sunday, November 4, 2007, after a long illness. She leaves her sister, Catherine E. Ward of Westborough; three brothers, Albert J. Ward and his wife Francine of Clinton, Francis W. Ward and his wife Nancy of Westborough, Walter H. Ward and his wife Linda of Shrewsbury; her close friend, Charlie Lupis of Westborough; two nephews and a niece.

She was born in Milford, daughter of the late James H. and Mary E. (Haven) Ward, and lived in Westborough most of her life. She graduated from Westborough High School and also earned a Master's Degree from the University of Rhode Island.

Virginia worked as a speech pathologist for many years at Metro-West Medical Center in Framingham. She enjoyed gardening and sports. In addition to her passion for baseball, she was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and her favorite player, quarterback Tom Brady.

CALLING HOURS will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6, in BRITTON-SUMMERS FUNERAL HOME, 4 Church St., WESTBOROUGH. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Westborough. The family suggests donations in memory of Virginia be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
