Robert Conrad Obituary

Robert N. "Bob" Conrad, 57, of 33 Bonnette Avenue, died Sunday, Nov. 11, at Hubbard Regional Hospital after being stricken ill at home.

He leaves his wife of 30 years, Mary E. (Bembenek) Conrad; 7 children: twins Beth M. Gentile and her husband James of Thompson and Bryan R. Conrad and his wife Pamela of Dayville, Carolyn M. Whitney and her fiancé Sean Mathieu of Danielson, William L. Conrad and his wife Brandie of Red Bluff, CA, Tina M. Gagliano and her husband Chris of Bend, CA, and twins David and Matthew of Millbury, MA; 3 brothers: Kenny Conrad of Douglas, MA, Randall Conrad of Sutton, MA and Bill Conrad of Uxbridge, MA; 2 sisters Carol Ann Clark of Dayville and Sandra Stolarczyk of Douglas, MA; 7 grandchildren: Austin, Camryn, Bill Jr., Jacob, Kayla, Frankie and Shane; nephews and nieces.

He was born in Northbridge and raised in Douglas, a son of Everett and Hazel (Longton) Conrad. He attended Douglas High School. He was a member of the Douglas Congregational Church in his youth.

Mr. Conrad was a machinist at Century Tool in Thompson for over 20 years and then at Slater Hill Machine Shop in East Killingly since 2006. He was also co-owner of the East Main Street Café in Webster, MA.

His many loves and interests include his beloved kittens, playing the guitar, the computer, reading the bible and living by its word, and helping in every way at the East Main St. Café. Bob was a jack of all trades and master of several. He was a family man, devoted to his children and especially his grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 16, in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster, MA. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours are from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, Nov. 15, in the funeral home. Donations in his memory may be made to the Congregational Church Tower Fund, 135 Center Road, Dudley, MA 01571.
