Josefa Mercedes Vasquez

Josefa Mercedes Vasquez, 88, passed away at home on Friday, November 23rd 2007. Josefa is survived by her four children: Josephine Rios of NY, Julio Vasquez, Marta Vega and Vidal Nunez; she is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and and 1 great-great-grandchild, as well as two sisters and one brother; Josefa was predeceased by a son, Carlos Vasquez. She was born in Camuy, Puerto Rico on March 7, 1919, and lived in Worcester for over 35 years. Josefa was a member of St. Paul's Cathedral and was a Sister of the Heart of Jesus. Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 26th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Graham, Putnam & Mahoney Funeral Parlors, 838 Main St., Worcester, MA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Paul's Cathedral, 15 Chatham St., Worcester, MA at 9:00 am on Tuesday, November 27th. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery.
