Philip Strand Obituary
He was born on March 22, 1922, in Turku, Finland. He grew up in the Worcester County area, and was a WWII veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1943-45. He worked at Wyman Gordon Co. Worcester, for 24 years, before moving to Florida 36 years ago. He liked baseball, was involved in little league, bowling, fishing, skating, table-tennis and participated in many other sports, enjoyed music, dancing, playing the harmonica and violin.
He leaves his son, Gary B. Strand of Rockland, ME; 2 daughters, Gail B. Strand of Newport, VT and Sheila M., wife of Peter D. Buckley of Auburn; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, William Rannikko of MA; many nieces and nephews and good friend and companion, Evelyn (Anderson) Strand of Florida.
Services will be at Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon, MA, on Thursday, Dec. 6th, at 11 a.m. Donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Shelia, Gail and Gary,
I am very sorry to hear about your fathers passing. We lost aunt Mary over this past summer and my Mom Theresa (Rannikko) in 2002. You have my heart felt condolences.

Gary, Gail and Shelia,
I was real sorry to hear about your Dad death.
He was a real good bing bong player. I can remember him playing with my Dad when you lived on Grove St.
He will be greatly missed by all you and his grandchildren.
