Irene Packard Obituary

Irene M. (Robillard) Packard, 64, of Worcester, died on Sunday, December 2 in the UMass Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus after an illness.

Irene is survived by her husband of 42 years, Donald W. Packard; her children: Kevin W. and his wife Christine H. Packard of Charlton, Karen M. and her husband Jerome D. Kann of Oxford, Korey A. Packard and his wife Dr. Andrea T. VanBuskirk of Millbury and Kerry A. Packard and her partner Sheri G. Apprille of Leominster; a brother, Raymond A. Robillard and his wife Ruth of Peoria, AZ; seven loving grandchildren: Daniel, Emily, Madison, Thomas, Samuel, Lauren and Gabrielle; many aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins.

Mrs. Packard was born in Worcester daughter of Alfred J. and Edna I. (Laquerre) Robillard and graduated from the David H. Fanning High School. Irene worked as a hairdresser and then as a banquet waitress for the College of the Holy Cross, the Worcester Centrum and Chris Cater Catering retiring in 1998.

She volunteered at the Maranville Little League as a girl's softball coach and was an avid bowler and enjoyed going to yard sales. Irene also enjoyed taking trips to the casino and playing bingo at the Seven Hills Center.

The funeral will be held on Friday, December 7 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond St. with a Mass at 10 AM in St. John's Church, 40 Temple St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 6 from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Barton Center for Diabetes Education, PO Box 356, North Oxford, MA 01537.

sorry to hear about your mom i can always remember the good old days growing up in south worcester and going to holy name.i had many a conversation with your mom at maloney,s field and she was always fun to talk to,and eventualy i will get to talk to her again in a wonderfull place they call heaven.
