Edna Magee Obituary

Edna M. Magee, of Hopkinton, MA, formerly of Sterling, died on Friday, December 7, 2007 at the Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Westborough, after a brief illness.

She is survived by her beloved sister, Alice Saffer of Hopkinton, her loving niece, Melinda E. Marchand and her husband James of Ashland, and her nephew Robert Magee and his wife Judy of Cascade, CO as well as grandnieces and grandnephews. A resident of Sterling, MA for 30 years, she was born in West New York, NJ and was raised on Staten Island, NY, where she was an active hospital volunteer and member of the Civil Air Patrol during World War II. An avid traveler, she was also a member of the English Speaking Union for many years. She was both an accomplished artist and horsewoman and enjoyed a long career as Director of Personnel for the Association of Stock Exchange Firms of New York.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 11, at 10:00 A.M. in the Hillside Cemetery, Sterling.

Calling hours at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Monday, December 10, from 5 to 7 P.M.

In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Baypath Humane Society of Hopkinton, Inc., 5 Rafferty Rd., Hopkinton, MA 01748.
