Patricia Collins Obituary
ITHACA - Patricia A. Collins, 61, of Ithaca, NY, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at Cayuga Medical Center, Ithaca, NY.
She is survived by her husband, Edward "Butch" Collins; her daughters, Candi and Dennis Griffin, Cheri Collins and Mike Jones; her grandchildren, Charles "CJ", Cayla, Katlyn, Shania; her two special sons, Butch and Brian Crozier; her mother, Virginia (Wilcox) Kelley; brothers and sisters, Ed and Mary Wilcox, Carol Mosch, Maynard and Virginia Wilcox, Sylvia and Arthur Bushnell, Linda and Tom Quinlan, Larry and Lindy Wilcox; her aunt, Hazel Williamson; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Leonard Wilcox; stepfather, Albert Kelley; brother-in-law, Tom "Corky" Mosch; Uncle Rodney and Aunt Charlotte Wilcox; and Uncle Edwin Williamson.
Patti was born in Cortland, NY on November 29, 1946. Along with her husband, Butch, she operated Collins Garbage Service, serving as vice-president for many years. Patti loved cooking and baking, and especially loved sharing her creations with others. She cherished her daughters and grandchildren, and patiently crocheted them afghans as an expression of her love. Patti enjoyed camping with her family throughout the summer at Meyers Park, and then living in Florida during the winter. She was an avid Buffalo Bills fan, enjoyed playing golf, and sponsored and played in the Lansing Women's Softball League. Above all, Patti was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, a loving sister, and a friend to all.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Lansing United Methodist Church, 32 Brickyard Rd., Lansing, NY, on Monday, June 23, 2008, at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor William Gottschalk-Fielding officiating. Burial will follow in North Lansing Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the Lansing United Methodist Church on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial gift to the North Lansing Fire Department Auxiliary. So sorry to hear of Patti's passing. I sent a card to Candi, but it was returned to me. I remember playing softball with Patti and then going to the park for hotdogs and drinks. God Bless you all in your time of loss.

I have fond memories of Patti both as a child and an adult. Patti used to babysit my brother and I when we were grade school age. I also had the pleasure of competing against her in women's slowpitch. I will never forget her and her laugh. My deepest sympathies to Butch and the entire family.

Patti holds fond memories in our family, she babysat our children in Homer, NY many years ago, and they just loved her. Always dependable. Altho we all lost touch, I never forgot her and the friendship we all had. My condolences on behalf of our children, Jackie Armstrong, Larry Banks and Valerie Banks. May all her pain go away.

Dear Collins family, Patti will be sorely missed. I grew up with very fond memories of my parents playing softball with you, MANY weeks of camping with you, Friday night bowling, golfing with you at Cedar view, Buffalo bills games, and many others, all of which accentuated by the friendliness and love that Pattie exuded. Patti was loved by my sister, parents and me. I thought of her as an aunt and will miss her deeply. If there is anything at all that you need or I can help with, please don't hesitate to ask. I was sorry to read of Patti's death. I didn't know her as well as many who have signed the guest book, but I do have memories of a couple of great parties at Cedar View with my late husband, Dick, Butch and Patti and the Larsens. Patti was always special in my book because of her friendliness and interest in others and pride in her family. She was faithful in sending Christmas cards. My sympathy to the whole family and especially to my husband's "Candy Cane."

Reading of Patti's death came as a shock, followed by deep sadness. She was a fantastic (and funny) lady that I looked forward to seeing return each Spring, along with Butch. She was thought of fondly each day in the colder months when her Buffalo Bills cup by the register caught my eye. My sincere sympathies to all of those that were close to her. She will be sadly missed, and sweetly remembered.
