6/7/40 - 7/8/08
FORMERLY OF FREEVILLE - John Edwards Gorman, age 68, of Venice, Florida, formerly of Freeville, New York, died July 8, 2008 after a brief illness. John was an employee of NYSEG for 34 years. Services will be held by the Gorman family at a later date. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Caroline Stacy Gorman; his daughter, Caroline Elizabeth Gorman of New York City; his son, John Gorman and wife, Angie of Huntersville, North Carolina; his grandchildren, Elle and Ty Gorman; his sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Tim Schenck of Wilmington Delaware; his brother-in-law, Johnny Rickard of Lake Placid, New York; his sister-in-law, Ree Rickard of Lake Placid; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Loveland Center, 157 South Havanna Road, Venice, FL 34292.

John always said he had a "Wonderful Life" - and if you saw pictures of John with Stacy, thier children and grandchildren his face was pure happiness. "Wonderful" but much to short. If you knew John, you liked him.

To all the Gorman family I express my deepest sympathy at John's passing. Over the years I used to see John in Cortland area when I visited up there and he was always Big John from HS. Some people leave an impression on you and John certainly did. God Bless all his family.

Stacy, let me mourn with you in celebrating the life of a most decent man. Just before leaving in May, John was at our mail boxes and came over to share words of wisdom and friendship.
