Dorothy Marshall Obituary

DOROTHY GIBBONS MARSHALL
WILLSEYVILLE - Dorothy Gibbons Marshall, 86, of Willseyville, NY, died on August 7, 2008 in Troy, PA, after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her parents, Edmund Byron and Edna McDaniels Gibbons also of Willseyville. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Fred L. Marshall; her children, Micheal R. (Donna) Marshall, Jean Eileen Marshall (Dale) Strickland, and Sandra Marshall. She leaves three grandchildren, Krista (Patrick) Marshall McKernan, Eric Audley (Johanna) Strickland and Marshall Ian Beckett; along with one great-grandson, Everett Austin Strickland.
Dorothy was born in Elmira and grew up in Willseyville. She and her mother sang duets in the church there and she and Fred married in that church. After marrying, she became a military wife and spent the next 23 years moving from base to base. She returned to Willseyville in 1965 and eventually retired from NCR.
Family and friends may pay their respects and share memories at Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 137 Main Street, Candor, on Monday, August 11, 2008, from 2 to 4 p.m. Her ashes will be interred at Smith Valley Cemetery between her parents on Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at 10 a.m. The family respectfully request that donations be made to the Candor Ambulance Squad, in her memory in lieu of flowers. www.emfaheyfh.com
