Arthur Rosoff Obituary

ARTHUR ROSOFF
SLATERVILLE SPRINGS - Arthur Rosoff, 89, died peacefully in his sleep on August 22, 2008.
Arthur was born on January 19, 1919 in Harlem, New York. He was a Lieutenant in the US Army Signal Corps and served in WWII and the Korean War. After the war, Arthur married the love of his life, Millie Brainin, whom he cherished and loved. He and Millie moved to Elmont on Long Island, NY, where they raised their three sons. Arthur worked for Connecticut Mutual as a life insurance agent and consultant.
Arthur loved to travel with Millie and had many interests, such as music, theatre and politics. He was also a gifted artist, cartoonist, sculptor, portrait painter, and landscape artist of oil and watercolors. Arthur passed his skills on to many. Arthur was a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law, grandpa, uncle, and friend, and always made people laugh with his great wit and sense of humor. In 2006, Arthur moved from Portland, Oregon, where he lived under the care of his son, Jack, to Ithaca, where he lived with his son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Robin. Arthur loved living with his children and appreciated the care his family gave him. He will be greatly missed by all his family and his many friends, some of them from his childhood.
Arthur is survived by his sons, Marc, Rick and Jack; his daughter-in-law, Robin; his older sister, Ruth; his grandchildren, Tony, Nina, Jenny, Jessie, Amy, Nicholai, Phoebe, Marlee; and his great-grandchild, Ella.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to Family and Children's Service of Ithaca, 127 W. State Street, Ithaca, NY 14850. Please specify Caregiver Counseling Program.
