Robert Wertz Obituary
DURHAM, NC - Robert Edward Wertz, age 80, died Friday, September 26, 2008, at Durham Regional Hospital. Bob was born on September 6, 1928 in Sayre, PA to the late Stephen and Lucy Hawley Wertz.
Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Navy who proudly served his country during WWII. He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in northern Durham.
Bob is survived by his wife, Margaret "Peg" Wertz of Durham; three daughters, Ann C. May of King Ferry, NY, Barbara L. Ross of Durham, Margaret "Peggy" P. Bauman of Cortland, NY; his brother, Ken Wertz of Endwell, NY; and nine grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Kathleen Campbell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 2008, from St. Matthew Catholic Church with Father Robert Diegelman presiding. Burial will follow in St. Matthew Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit one hour prior to Mass on Thursday in the church.
