Doris Wright Obituary

DORIS WRIGHT
HECTOR - Doris Wright, age 91, of Peach Orchard Point, Hector, NY, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2008, at Schuyler Hospital, Montour Falls, NY.
A memorial service in her memory will be held at the Hector Presbyterian Church, Hector, NY, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2008. The Reverend Thomas Montgomery will officiate; followed by interment at Hector Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Doris was predeceased by her husband, Clair Wright, in 1958; and her sister, Mary Mohr, in 1988. She is survived by cousin, Dr. and Mrs. Donald McFarland of Burdett; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wright was educated at Cornell University, Ithaca College and SUNY Cortland. She taught high school English for many years, and later retired from Schuyler County Social Services in 1981. She was a member of the Hector Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder. She also belonged to the Schuyler County Retired Teachers Association and served on the R.S.V.P. Advisory Council.

I am so sorry to learn of Doris's death. She helped train me when I started at DSS. I learned a lot from Doris about work and life. She was so sweet.
