J. Dean Obituary

J WESLEY DEAN
TRUMANSBURG - J Wesley Dean, of 9860 Arden Rd., Trumansburg, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at the age of 98.
Born in the Town of Covert on December 15, 1909, Wes was the son of Floyd and Carrie (Dawson) Dean.
A lifelong resident of Trumansburg, Wes took great pride and pleasure in the operation of his family farm. Watching Wes operate his Oliver 60, IH 10-20 and Ford 860 tractors or his combines were some of the family's fondest memories. Perched in the driver seat of farm equipment somehow widened his always present warm grin to a full blown smile of contentment. Wes appreciated the land he worked and also looked forward to exploring other places as he traveled whenever possible over the years.
Wes was preceded in death by his wife, Winifred; a son, James W.; a half-brother, Clifford; and three half-sisters, Salina, Sara and Betty Jane. He is survived by two sons, Donald W. of Clearwater, FL, and Bruce N. of Trumansburg; one daughter, Elizabeth D. Raymond of Trumansburg; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a half-brother, Harold; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will be present to receive friends on Saturday, October 25, 2008, from 10-11 a.m. at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St., Trumansburg.
A Memorial Service, officiated by Rev. William Gottschalk-Fielding, will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2008, at the funeral home. Prayers of Committal will follow at Grove Cemetery.
The family asks those who wish to remember Wes in the form of a contribution to kindly consider the Trumansburg Fire Department, P.O. Box 418, Trumansburg, NY, 14886.
