James Cooper Obituary

JAMES E. COOPER
ITHACA - James E. Cooper, age 66, of Ithaca, died October 27, 2008 from complications of pneumonia.
He was born July 3, 1942 in Watkins Glen, NY. He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Mary Gould Cooper; his sister, Helyn; and his brothers, Raymond, Sam, Roland and Gary Lee. He is survived by his sister, Shirley Cooper of Montour Falls; his nephew, Douglas (Cindy) Cooper; his niece, Carol (Chuck) Allen; his great-nephews, Kris Cooper, Jason Cooper, and Garrett Allen; several cousins; and his special friends, Marcy, Sarah and Ilene.
Jim graduated from Watkins Glen High School. He trained as a laboratory technician at Robert Packer Hospital and Middletown Hospital, later working at Tompkins County Hospital and Cornell University.
Jim was a sweet man who loved his family, his dear friends, and his community of friends in Alcoholics Anonymous. He was much loved and will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 8, at 2:00 p.m. at Ithaca Community Recovery, 518 West State St., Ithaca, New York 14850. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ithaca Community Recovery. E.C. Wagner Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
