Ann Karnitz Obituary

ANN F. KARNITZ
CANDOR - Ann F. Karnitz, 95, of Candor, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, October 4, 2007, from Tioga Nursing Facility, Waverly, NY.
She was born on November 12, 1911 in New Rochelle, NY, the daughter of the late Martin A. and Anna (Reardon) Dominger.
Ann worked and volunteered in the Ithaca community. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Van Etten.
Ann was an inspiration to the family, beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Goals for the grandchildren were a priority.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin Karnitz, Candor; son, Martin (Melba) Lakin, Newfield; stepsister, Thelma Riley, Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Robert (Patty) Lakin, Linda (Chris) Collet, Theresa Lakin and John Vulopas, Judy (Eddy) Haymaker, John Lakin, Martin Lakin, Coreen, Joseph Lakin, John (Karen) Hollenbeck, William (Laura) Hollenbeck, Jackie (Jeffrey) Horton; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Ann was predeceased by brothers and sisters; first husband, John Lakin; second husband, Arnold Tripp; sons, John and Joseph Lakin; daughter, Joan Hollenbeck; and granddaughter, Julie Hollenbeck.
Friends may call on Sunday, October 7, 2007, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Allen-Manzer Funeral Home in Spencer. Funeral Mass will be Monday, October 8, 2007, at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Van Etten, with Rev. William A. Moorby officiating. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Cortland, NY.
Memorials may be directed to Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850.
