Ellen Stevens Obituary
ITHACA - Ellen Mary Stevens, 63, died Monday, October 15, 2007, at the Cayuga Medical Center. She was born in Tuam, County Galway, Ireland in 1944, daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Martin Gilmore.
Ellen came to the United States in 1964 and had lived in Dover, NH for the past 12 years. She moved to Ithaca this past summer to be with her son and daughter-in-law, John and Mel Ginsberg-Stevens, who survive her. She is also survived by her siblings, Teresa, Mark, Paddy, Marian, Noreen, Billy, Geraldine, Catherine and Bernie; several nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Darline Johnson. In addition to her parents, Ellen was also predeceased by her husband, John H. Stevens; and her brother, Michael.
A celebration of Ellen's life will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the Bangs Funeral Home. Her remains will be returned along with her husband's to her native Ireland. In keeping with Ellen's wishes, please omit flowers. Donations may be made to the Wolf Sanctuary of Pennsylvania. (http://www.wolfsancpa.org).

I only knew Ellen for a short time, but she is in my thoughts daily and I will always remember her smile, laugh and our trips to Stewart Park and those scratch offs. I love you Ellen.
