PAUL WILLIAM SHERWOOD
GILLETT - Paul William Sherwood, age 94, of Gillett, PA, died Thursday, October, 18, 2007, at Maple Creek Gardens-Elcor, Horseheads, NY.
Born March 31, 1913 in Ithaca, NY, the son of the late Alfred and Laura Ackles Sherwood.
Paul was married to Esther Evelyn Blide Sherwood, she preceded him in death in 1989. Paul was a farmer, carpenter and a New York Park superintendent for Buttermilk Falls State Park, Ithaca, and Newtown Battlefield Reservation, Elmira, NY.
Paul was a member of the Arnot Presbyterian Church, Arnot, PA, Lions Club, and election committee of Arnot, PA.
Surviving Paul are his children, Alfred (Judy) Sherwood, Trumansburg, NY, Lawrence (Patty) Keansburg, NJ, and Laura (Gary) Webster, Fassett, PA; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding Paul in death were a brother, Lawrence M. Sherwood; and a special friend, Peg Lawson.
Family and friends will be received at the Freeberg Funeral Home, 120 N. Williamson Rd., Blossburg, PA, Saturday, October 27, 2007, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will follow the viewing at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Rusbuldt officiating. Burial will take place at the Swedish Cemetery, Arnot, PA at the convenience of the family.
