Ralph Allen Obituary
WELLSVILLE, NY - Ralph William Allen, 85, of 3271 First Street, died early Wednesday, October 24, 2007, at the Wellsville Highland Healthcare Center. He was born September 12, 1922 in Rexville, NY, the son of Norman and Freda (Wilcox) Allen. On July 26, 1946, he married Erma P. Osmin, who predeceased him on July 18, 2007.
He is survived by three daughters, Marcella (Roger) Culbert of Fillmore, Marilynn (Martin) Wesche of Newfield, and Agnes Allen of Wellsville; five sons, Stephen Allen and Dwight (Gail) Allen, both of Wellsville, James (Patti) Allen of Cumming, GA, Kevin (Debbie) Allen of Avon, and Gregory (Laura) Allen of Apex, NC. Ralph is also survived by 16 loving grandchildren: Marcella's children, Christina Boss and Elizabeth Wolcott; Stephen's children, Julie and Maureen Allen; Marilynn's children, Jeffrey Wesche and Colleen Reilly; Dwight's children, Courtney Wright and Lyndsey Allen; Agnes's son, Adam Allen; James's children, Mackenzie, Harrison and Connor Allen; Kevin's children, Sarah and Daniel Allen; and Gregory's children, Zachary and Hannah Allen. In addition, he is survived by 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary (Howard) Banks, Harriett (Emerson) Banks, and Ida (Howard) Holt; and a large extended family.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 61 years, Erma; his parents; three brothers, Kenneth, Stewart and Max Allen; two sisters, Marjorie Herrick and Margaret Smith; and two grandsons, Roger and Mathew Culbert.
Friends are invited to call on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home, Inc. in Wellsville. The funeral will be Saturday, October 27, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. in the Brookside Wesleyan Church on the Andover Road in Wellsville with Rev. Robin George presiding. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
