Cindy Sharshon Obituary
KING FERRY, NY - Cindy Sharshon, 49, of Route 34-B, King Ferry, NY, passed away Wednesday, November 7th, 2007, at Cayuga Medical Center following complications from liver cancer. She is survived by her loving family, her wide circle of wonderful friends, and her large pack of calm-submissive dogs.
A celebration of her life will be held in the auditorium of the Southern Cayuga Central School, Route 34-B in Poplar Ridge at 11 a.m. on Sunday, November 18th. A dish to pass reception will follow in the school's cafeteria. A further celebration will be held next spring in her hometown of Stamford, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to the SPCA of Tompkins County, 1640 Hanshaw Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850.
Bangs Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dear Cindy's Family,
Cindy was one of my closest friends in high school in Stamford. When we graduated, she gave me a gift that I still have and cherish to this day. It is a book of poems and pictures. I want to share two excerpts from that book. The first: "Sometimes I find myself wishing there were two of you- Because you are goodness itself to so many people. But herein lies the mystery amie; you are so very precious that the 'one of you' is more than I ever dare to wish for." This is who Cindy was to me. My heart breaks at the loss of this dear and precious woman. Please know that I am praying for your family at this time of great loss. The second thing that Cindy wrote that I wanted to share is, "Memory is the only paradise from which we cannot be driven." I pray that your memories will always bring you great comfort.
And may the Lord God Almighty comfort you as only He is able.

Cindy was our next door neighbor. She lived in the house where I grew up. Dick and I enjoyed her backyard visits when the children were little. She was like the daughter we never had. We loved her, and will miss her very much.
