Esperanza Rosado Obituary

ESPERANZA ROSADO
ITHACA - Esperanza Rosado, known to many as "Ita," passed away Thursday, December 6th, at 7:55 p.m.
She was survived by her eight kids, Jasmin Cubero, Emilia Cubero, Gilberto Cubero, Jessica Cubero, Carlito Rosado, Juan Rosado, Daniel Carrion and Brendalise Rosado; and seven grandkids, Katherine, Melissa, Jamilla, Jessaree, Matthew, Anastasia and Natalie Hope. She was a loving and family oriented soul. Not only did she absolutely love her own children and grandchildren, but she also loved her stepchildren, Mikey, Jazmin and Eddie whom were considered to be just like her own.
She dedicated her life to her children and devoted her love to her living partner, Eugenio Arce, who cared for her like no other could ever imagine. "I still can't believe she's not here," Eugenio and the kids would say as their eyes fill up with tears. "Sometimes I feel like she's in dialysis and it's just a matter of time before she's home again, but the time goes by and I still don't have her here." Home again is where she wanted to be and she let it be known to every medical staff she had ever encountered after the traumatic aneurism that left her paralyzed from the waist down and terminally ill back in 2002. Her presence was well-known to many and her will to survive was well-respected. Although she was pretty stubborn at times and told it like it was, she meant well, because she truly cared. Her family, friends and even acquaintances loved her very much and have shared many special and lasting moments with her. Many would agree that every moment with her no matter how small or simple would never be forgotten. Her love for her family was so strong that she fought and fought many physical and internal battles in order to be with her family just one more day….and so she fought all the way until the very end. Mami, like the times you'd wish you would walk, run and dance again….walk, run and dance again Mami. Like the white bird you wished to have become….fly Mami fly! We love you Mami and we will always, ALWAYS miss you.
Friends and family may call from 10:00 until time of 12 Noon Funeral Service at the Herson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.

Jasmin/Emilia, we are saddened by your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May you find peace in knowing that Ita is off to a better place -- in heaven singing with the angels, watching over her children and her children's children. We will all miss her, but may her spirit live on in the smiles and laughter of all her children and grandchildren. Love, Ines and Anthony

Yes you were VERY stubborn at times. But that is what kept you going. I am glad to have had a brief encounter with you as a caregiver. Thanks for putting up with my akward attempt at speaking Spanish. You will be sorely missed. I will pray for you and your family.
