So many good memories of Martha and seeing her senior picture brought back more. I graduated with Martha and so remember her laugh. Hearing her laugh would make me laugh, even if we didn't know what we were laughing about. She was so silly. I remember going to her house on East Park Avenue and helping her and her Mom bake cookies. A small trailor but filled with so much love. You could feel it the minute you saw the trailor with the smell of cookies or supper from the outside to entering the house and feeling the love. It is a shame that more of us don't keep in touch after high school or college. Martha was always in touch with the Lord and I am sure she paved her way with her faith. The road is Golden with Marthas laughter. God Bless the Family.

Martha Sue was a wonderful big sister. I remember missing her so much when she went away to college. I will always be so proud of my sister and her wonderful family. Bill, thank you for being such a wonderful husband and father. Girls, I see a little of your mother in each of you. She was brave, loving, creative, loyal and fun. I will miss her forever.

To the Amos & Johnson Families: My memory of Martha is from her early years when she was a member of our Youth Fellowship Grp at Christ United Methodist. What a sweet & charming person she was! I especially remember one event when she and a friend tried wearing mascara for the first time...they were so excited.
Please know that our prayers are with each of you. I know you are surrounded by the love of family, the love of friends and the love of our Savior. I hope that will bring you comfort.
Love, Reta & Wally Smouse

May God's Peace be with your family. I went to High School with Martha and she was always a good friend. We lost touch over the years and I am sorry to learn that she lived in Lakeland all this time and I didn't know it. I live in Fort Myers, we could have visited. You are in my prayers.

Dear Johnson Family: I went to East Fairmont with your mom and she was a true friend to me, even though I did not realize it at the time. She always had a gentle tone to her voice, she never judged me for my mistakes, and you can bet when I would see that smile, I felt better. I know Martha Sue has taken her love of music and children from us, but heaven is all the better for it. Martha, I will miss you greatly.

Dear Bill and girls,
We were so saddened to hear of Martha Sue's passing, and we can only imagine how tough it is right now. I have very fond memories of visiting Martha Sue and all my cousins in West Virginia summer after summer. I always looked forward to it. Martha Sue was so very nice to me and we had a lot of fun playing.
Martha Sue will be sorely missed but her memories will live on in all of us.
Our thoughts are with you,
.

Dear Bill,Laura,Rebecca,Grace and "Emma Angel",
Our hearts are so saddened, but we know the Angels are rejoicing, because another Angel has joined their choir. It's hard to express in a few words what Martha meant to us. Being neighbors and close friends has been one of the true blessings of our lives. We've been with Martha through the difficult times of her illness and the many happy times, like when the precious twins were born. It was hard to leave your beautiful family when we relocated to N.C., but Martha always hoped you would all be able to come visit us, and we would talk about seeing the girls running and playing in these beautiful mountains. She was one of the dearest people I have ever known. Our hearts, tears and prayers are with you as you begin your journey in life without her. But, remember that she will always be with you. A friend is one of the nicest things you can have, and one of the best things you can be, and Martha was that - a wonderful, endearing friend that made a hugh impact on my life, and one I will never forget. Rest in peace, Dear Friend. Your forever friends, Bill & Joyce

Martha was always an inspiration to all of us everyday. In the face of adversity she always brought a positive attitude and a smile. She was a very kind and compassionate person as well as a teacher. She touched everyone at Crystal Lake in a very special way. I miss her smile but it is forever etched in my memory. I am unable to unattend the viewing/funeral due to a trip to New York. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Bill and Girls,
I was one of your mom's college roommates. I have many fond memories of your mom. One of my favorites is when she started dating your dad. She had her head in the clouds! We'd go through our little house on 3rd Street turning off the water she'd leave running when she was getting ready for a date with your dad. It was funny and sweet all at the same time.
I have been blessed through the years to feel her faith in God grow by reading Christmas corespondences. I know she's enjoying the mansion Jesus built for her and she's happy with the interior design!
Bill, our prayers go out to you and the girls. Thanks for loving and taking such good care of Martha.
Blessings and love,
Susan

Dear Loved Ones,
Martha and I worked together at Medulla and took classes at Southeastern College. She was a tremendous inspiration during that time as she worked hard in the midst of her treatments. I am truly blessed to have known her and wish we would have stayed in touch over the past few years. I just came across a note from her and decided I would call her when I received the news. My prayers are with all of you and share in the rejoicing that someday, very soon, we will all be together with our Lord Jesus Christ.
Sincerely,
Roberta Rainwater

Martha was an inspiration to all who knew her. She went through so much without ever faultering in her faith in God and always came through it all with a smile. We can all take a lesson in her life. She will be greatly missed by myself and by the rest of her family. Love ya sis.

I only wish I could think of words to describe the faith Martha gave me at some to the difficult times of my life. She was never one to feel sorry for herself or let you know she was worried about anything. She was a role model to me and there are not many I hold as much respect for in my heart. Please know our hearts and prayers are with you Laura, and family. Your mom is at peace and free from pain forever. God bless each of you as you learn to live your new lives after this great loss. You will never be without her spirit because that she shared with all that knew her and all that knew her knew that her family was the most precious in her world!

Dear Bill & Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you in this very difficult time. I understand what it's like to lose your spouse ... but I promise you that God will carry you through as He has so wonderfully done for me over the last 20 years.
I always admired Martha's spirit and her upbeat outlook in the midst of her health problems. Marha is truly enjoying the presence of Jesus at this very moment. What a blessing for her faithfulness.
I will continue to pray for you and my congregation here is praying for you as well.
