MARIA RAMIREZ Obituary
PHARR - Maria S. Ramirez, 72, died Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.
Born in Mercedes, Mrs. Ramirez had lived in Pharr most of her life and was a member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Pharr.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Luis H. Ramirez; a daughter, Sylvia R. Garza; a granddaughter, Felicia Castillo; her parents, Napoleon and Virginia Solis; a sister, Victoria Enriquez; and a brother, Jose Maria Solis.
Mrs. Ramirez is survived by six children; Irene (Steven) Garner of Laredo, Texas, Maria Luisa (Ricardo) Castillo, Flor Estella Ramirez, Leticia Ramirez, all of Pharr, Cynthia Salinas of Holland, Texas and Norma (Dwayne) Tuetken of Ephrata, Washington; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Beto Solis of Pharr, Ernesto Solis of Donna, Oscar Solis of Mission; four sisters, Amelia Ybarra, Rosa Hernandez, Hortencia Lopez, all of Pharr and Esther Castillo of Moses Lake, Washington.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary, today, June 30, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
