Mary R. (Alice) Burton

Mary R. (Alice) Burton, 91, of Elm Street, Westerly, died Oct. 7, 2008, in the Watch Hill Care & Rehab., Westerly. She was the widow of the late Floyd Burton.
Born in Westerly, she was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Lucy (DeBartolo) Alice.
Mrs. Burton had been employed as a quality control inspector at Yardney Electric until retiring in 1985. She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church.
She is survived by two sons, Salvatore Burton and his wife Christine and Ken Burton, all of Westerly; a daughter, Bert Mannix of Tortola, British Virgin Islands; two brothers, Pasquale Alice of Charlestown and Joseph Alice of Westerly; one sister, Carmella Lupica of Westerly; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Angelo Alice, Samuel Alice and Louis Alice; by two sisters, Margaret Alessio and Christina Page; and by a grandchild.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High St., Westerly. There is no procession from the funeral home to the church. Burial will be in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly.
