Josephine M. (Gilchrist) Nagle

Josephine M. (Gilchrist) Nagle, 95, wife of the late John F. Nagle and resident of Merchant's Village, passed away on Oct. 10, 2008 at Watch Hill Care and Rehab.
She was the daughter of the late Timothy and Josephine Gilchrist. She was a native of Westerly, born on Sept. 25, 1913.
An active and devoted communicant of St. Pius X Church, Josephine was a past president of the St. Pius X Rosary and Altar Society and a member of the Legion of Mary. She served as a Cub Scout Den Mother for several years, and was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. She was also an avid Red Sox fan.
She is survived by a son, John D. Nagle, and daughter-in-law Marilee A. Nagle of Cumberland, Maine. She was the proud grandmother of Aaron C. and Justin C. Nagle, great-grandmother to Joshua, Tyler, Isabelle, and Isaac Nagle, and leaves several nieces and nephews.
She also leaves her sister Frances Lupinacci, and brother Charles Gilchrist. She was predeceased by her three sisters, Margaret Gilchrist, Virginia Danesi, and Eleanor Buerger; and her two brothers, Joseph and John Gilchrist.
Visiting hours will be held in Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., on Monday from 2 to 5 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated in St. Pius X Church, Elm Street, Westerly, on Tuesday at 10 a.m. There is no procession from the funeral home to the church. Burial will be in St. Sebastian Cemetery.
