Louis Rosso Obituary

Louis F. Rosso, of McLean, Va., died peacefully on Sept. 28, 2008, in Blacksburg, Va., surrounded by his family.
He had lived in the Washington area off and on for more than 50 years. Mr. Rosso, the youngest of 10 children, was born in Westerly.
He graduated from Northfield Mount Hermon School and Middlebury College in Vermont. For most of his career, he was with the Central Intelligence Agency.
In addition to his wife of 53 years, Nancy McDonough Rosso, Lou is survived by two sisters, Florence Marie and Angelina Castagnaro of Westerly; five children, Lucia Bortz of Steubenville, Ohio and her husband Craig, Joseph L. Rosso of McLean and his wife Stephanie Hess, Juliet Rosso Ryan of Blacksburg, Martha Rosso of Raleigh, N.C., and Caroline Bennett and her husband Dave of Blacksburg; 11 grandchildren, Annie, Peter, James, Nancy, Sarah, Jason, Sam, Rosie, Megan, Louie and Shane; and one great-grandchild, Kane.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Rose Ligoure and Minnie Lord; and five brothers, Jack, James, Michael, Julio, and Albert Rosso.
Lou was a longtime member of the PAX Catholic Community of Northern Virginia.
A Mass in celebration of his life was held at the St. Luke's Orthodox Church, McLean, Va.
