Vincent Lanna Obituary

Vincent T. Lanna, 80, husband of Josephine (Spagnolo) Lanna, died Nov. 3, 2008, at his home in Quonochontaug.
Born in Yonkers, N.Y., he was the son of the late Thomas and Lucia (Carone) Lanna.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving post-WWII and during the Korean War, where he was honorably discharged. In 1980, he and his family moved to Rhode Island. He was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church, where he also served as both lector and Eucharistic Minister. He loved to play tennis, fish, and spend time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Thomas V. Lanna, M.D. of East Greenwich; two daughters, Gemma Gorham of Chepachet and Lucille Lanna, M.D. of Narragansett; a sister, Shirley Milardo, of Ansonia, Conn.; and seven grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a sister, Florence Patterson.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Church, Route 216, Bradford. Burial with military honors will be in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly.
