I was saddened to learn of Thomas's passing. He was a Godly man who faced his illness with courage and humor. I can still see him sitting on the organ bench at the Cathedral with that huge smile. I am honored to have called him my friend. Heaven's choir has gained a wonderful bass. God speed, Thomas.

I visited with Thomas the Sunday before his death...he was very alert and even at that time, concerned that he would get an incomplete grade at school, and that he hadn't seen his pets...we in the choir of which he was such a big part will truly miss his deep bass...we feel that he's surely singing with the angels.

I take comfort in the knowledge that Thomas is in a much better place where he is free of pain and worry. I also take comfort in the awareness that each time the St. Johns Cathedral Choir comes together, Thomas' spirit is there with us -- singing along with that big bass voice and joining us with his great, joyful laugh.

Thomas was a dear man who seemed always to be seeking approval. I trust he is now held fast by those above whose approval he also sought. I am so pleased he no longer has reason to be sad or vulnerable, and consider myself blessed to have known him. He sang at my wedding and the baptisms of my husband and children. He is part of the choir I remember so well. I could never thank him enough for having accompanied me one day so I could sing my heart out on a piece no other would attempt to play. God bless, and God keep, Thomas. It is a relief not to have to worry about your suffering any more!

Thomas and I shared the same birthday, February 26th, with his twin brother and my grandfather. This always made it a special day! He has been an important part of the St. John's Cathedral Choir family for many years and will be sorely missed. I'll never forget him singing "Go Down Moses" from the back of the church at many of the Easter Vigil services. And I'll remember the times at Epiphany when he came down the aisle singing a verse of "We Three Kings". It just won't be the same without you, Thomas. Godspeed, my friend.

Thomas was a sweet soul who brightened every room he entered. His talent, humor and enthusiasm will be sorely missed by his many friends. I have no doubt he is even now charming his new friends in the next life.

Thomas was a great friend and inspiration to many of us in the St. John's Cathedral Choir. I personally enjoyed singing next to him and watching the energy he put into the Children's Chapel program to assist me, and ultimately take over. He had a giving heart that touched me deeply and his memory will live on.

I first began attending St. John's Cathedral in 1994 at a difficult time in my life, and Thomas was one of the first persons there that I became aquainted with. He was always so kind, warm, and encouraging. He always had a smile for me, no matter how he felt. I am grateful to have known such a good man, my brother in Christ. We will miss him and his song.

Thomas was one of God's very special people. He was affiliated with St. John's Episcopal Cathedral for many years. He was an inspiration to us all -- excellent musician, mentor, teacher, friend, and brother. Even in the face of insurmountable odds, Thomas always kept his wonderful sense of humor. The heavenly choir now has another good strong bass!

Thomas will be remembered for his kind, gentle nature, his love of music and performance, and his zest for life. He was a loyal member of the St. John's Cathedral Choir, wrote a musical (with Gus Weltsek III) called "Paul and the Boys," played both the organ and piano very well, loved his friends and exhibited his love of God every day in his life. He will be greatly missed.

"Tom Mouse", as I liked to call him, was a very special person to me and all who knew him. He had a childlike quality, but a passionate musician. He made us laugh, even while his health was hanging in a balance. We never got to play the trumpet-organ duets we had planned, but maybe later...when we'll meet again. God's best blessings to my beloved friend, Tom Mouse.

It's hard to believe that such a sweet and gentle soul is no longer here to grace us with his music and humor. In the years I have known Thomas, I have come to value and respect his courage and his seemingly endless ability to forgive. He will be missed.

It is difficult for us to express how much we will miss Thomas. We began to miss him as soon as we learned he would be passing on into Glory. His life was not an easy one, but he approached it with so much joy and enthusiasm. Yes, he will be sorely missed, not only by us but by a multitude of people who loved him. Rest calm, our friend.
