Alexandra (Alexa) Faust passed away on February 21, 2016 two days shy of her 91st birthday. She LOVED life and had a good one. She was born in New York City on February 23, 1925. Her parents, Vasiliki Dimitrikopoulos and Christos Poulos, emigrated from Greece and met in a pre-arranged marriage. They were hard workers and owned a deli/grocery store which they ran during the depression. Alexa loved Central Park, Frank Sinatra, fashion, and always considered herself a "city girl". After World War II, she met and married her very dashing husband Philip Faust, an Air Force veteran, with whom she enjoyed exotic travels around the world. She had five children who she called her "jewels" (Kristine, Elaine, Cynthia, Phyllis, Richard). She was a homemaker who was famous for her cheesecake and apple pie and a legal secretary for her husband's law practice.

In 1984 she moved to New Mexico to be near her two daughters. After becoming widowed at age 74, she had a second chance at love with Boris Charlasch, who was her partner for fifteen years. Their shared love of ballroom dancing ignited great times together.

Alexa was blessed with eight grandchildren (Wesley, Evelyn, Matthew, William, Julia, Samuel, Juliette and Josie) who she loved dearly and relished their every story.

Alexa was a beautiful woman inside and out. She gave unconditional love to all around her. Many people considered her their second mother. She was a gentle confidant to many, and her motto was "Be Kind to Each Other". She suffered from the consequences of multiple strokes, but never lost her kind demeanor and was ready for any party anywhere! We love her dearly and imagine her dancing the rumba in heaven.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Custos, her husband Philip, and her daughter Cynthia.

She is survived by her brother Aristedes, her "jewels" Kristine Townsend (Richard), Elaine Faust (Isaac Benton), Phyllis Faust (Steven Kane), and Richard Faust (Marina Perry).

A memorial celebration was held at Brookdale Valencia in Albuquerque. A second memorial is planned for April in New York.
