Carlos Sanchez "Buddy" was born on June 30th, 1938 and left this world on May 25th, 2017.

He was 78 years old, preceded in death by his parents Jose J. & Carmen Sanchez and brother Tony Sanchez.

Carlos is survived by his wife of 57 years Isabel Sanchez, whom he loved very much; his sons Carlos Sanchez II and his wife Lola, Timothy Sanchez and his wife Emily; daughters Karen Sanchez-Griego Ed.D, and her husband Anthony, Julie Lujan and her husband Robert, Teresa Wasson and her husband Eric. Grandchildren: Jeremy & Jonae Lujan, Justin & Cameron Griego, Francisco Sanchez, Joby, Dominic & Carlos III Sanchez, Payton Wasson and great grandchildren Isabela Lujan, Cecilia & Carlos Griego, and Leonel Griego.

We also note that Carlos loved his brother and sisters like his own, and helped to raise them after his father's untimely death.

Carlos was an avid swimmer, went to the gym on a daily basis and for several years prior to his illness; played golf. He was very active in many Catholic Church organizations, with the Prison Ministry being of significant importance to him. He was in the church choir, the finance committee, and a member of St. Vincent De Paul in which he spend hours serving the poor and needy. He was a member of St. Edwin's Parish, and now Holy Rosary.

Carlos graduated from St. Michael's High School in Santa Fe in 1956 and received a BA in Business Management with emphasis in accounting from the University of Albuquerque in 1984. He spent most of his career at Duke City Lumber Company where he held several positions until his retirement in 1999 as President of Duke City Lumber.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited at Garcia Mortuary Chapel of Angels, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW Albuquerque, NM on Wednesday, May 31, at 11:00 am with interment to follow at Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale Blvd. SE.
