Michael Tyson Obituary
Michael A. Tyson set off to explore the Universe on Monday, June 29th in his resident city of Buffalo, NY. He passed peacefully after a three year battle with cancer, age 37. Mike is remembered fondly for his big heart, big hugs, playful sense of humor, and passion for poetry. He was a graduate of New Mexico Military Institute, class of '96, U. of Buffalo, class of '12, and was in the UB Master's Program as an educator for inner-city youth.
He is survived by his loving family, parents Albert and Jo Nell Tyson of Albuquerque; sisters Mindy and Megan; nephews/niece Quinn, Calla, Rhett, and Jaylin, wife GiGi; best friend Jeff; and numerous friends whose lives he touched.
Memorial Service will be held today, Friday 7/3/15 at 4:00 pm at the Covenant Methodist Church, 8510 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87113. Reception to follow.
