Scott Pearson Obituary

Scott Pearson

We are sad to announce the death of Scott Pearson, beloved son and brother. He passed away suddenly on September 23, 2023 while on a trip to Germany with close friends. Scott was born on September 19, 1966, in Albuquerque, NM, but spent his childhood in the Pecos Valley, growing up just outside of Artesia NM. He graduated from Sandia HS in Albuquerque in 1984 where he was active in swim team and band. His interest in agriculture & science lead him to complete a Bachelor of Science at Purdue in 1988. He then completed a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University in 1998 and went on to do further research there, focusing on Oncology.

A quiet soul, Scott was unfailingly thoughtful, caring, and generous (and humble about it). Always curious, he was an avid and broad reader, with interests that ranged from current news to poetry. He was also a big foodie, and loved a good wine and dinner with friends. He loved to create, both in food and as a woodworker, freely sharing his handiworks (especially his delicious bread) with those he cared about.

Scott is survived by his parents, Edward and Jaye Pearson, sister Sacha and brother Brian. Scott was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who cared for him.

A memorial is scheduled at his home in Fort Collins on November 12, 2023. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Food Bank of Larimer County and Colorado Public Radio on his behalf.

I am sad to hear this news. I have searched the internet several times to see what amazing things he has accomplished in life. I have asked several of his fraternity brothers about him. I was sad to find this today. I had a lot of fun in college with him. He took me to a dance my freshman year of college. Prayers to his friends and family.
